The Aura River divides Turku into two sides: \u201ct\u00e4l puol jokke\u201d (\u201con this side of the river\u201d) and
\u201ctois puol jokke\u201d (\u201con the other side of the river\u201d). F\u00f6ri carries people across the river free of
charge between Tervahovinkatu (on the east side) and Wechterinkuja (on the west side).<\/p><\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n

Crossing the river on F\u00f6ri takes approximately two minutes. Mainly it operates around the year following the schedule<\/p><\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n

    Summertime ends on Turku Day (the third Sunday in September). The annual docking of F\u00f6ri is after Turku Day and lasts normally around two weeks, during which time a substitute vessel operates in F\u00f6ri\u2019s place.

    During cold winters F\u00f6ri is replaced by an ice bridge, provided that the thickness of ice is at least 30 cm throughout. Since the year 2000 the ice bridge has been in use in 2003, 2010, 2011, and 2014.<\/p><\/div><\/div>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n
